A player got the ultimate Halloween treat after winning $13 million in a Powerball Win with online ticket.
The winning ticket was sold online at online lottery dealer MyLotto.
“This is the 11th time this year that Powerball has been won, making 2015 the luckiest year for Powerball players in the game’s history,” Lotto spokeswoman Emilia Mazur said.
“It’s always exciting when a major prize is won and we’re thrilled to have another MyLotto winner taking home such a big win. We can’t wait to find out who the winner is and help them celebrate their windfall.”
At the time of this news, the winner’s identity is a mystery. However, it has been confirmed that they are from Auckland.
The amazing Lotto year for Powerball wins started with three big wins in January. A player from Pukekohe winning $10.7m on a ticket gifted to him by one of his best friends, a Nelson couple hit the jackpot and found themselves $5m richer then later in the month a family syndicate from Hokitika’s lucky numbers came up, bagging them a life-changing $6.5m prize.
A week after the Hokitika win, in the first week of February, a MyLotto player from Whanganui opened an email that would lead him to a life-changing discovery – that he’d won $4.3m with Powerball.
Then lady luck visited a couple in Tauranga on Valentine’s Day, winning them $4.5m.
The Powerball wins continued into March when an Auckland couple won $9.1.
A family from Rotorua scooped a massive $24.3m in June then in August a Hamilton man won $9.3m with Powerball.
Last month, a Hastings player won $8.1m with a ticket that was a birthday gift. The very next week, a couple visiting the Bay of Plenty won $5m on a ticket bought in Tauranga.
Who knows, maybe you will be the next one to celebrate a Powerball win. Let’s get playing.
