Lucky group of cleaners won a Lottery Jackpot in their Euromillions lottery syndicate
The cleaners have now revealed that they’ll be spending their £1million winnings on holidays and house renovations rather splash out unnecessary luxuries.
The Eighteen lucky cleaning ladies claim that they will splash out on some holidays in the sun as well as home improvements but do not plan on leaving their jobs after scooping £1million on the Euromillions lottery jackpot.
Following their big win, they have all returned to work and will continue to play in their Euromillions lottery syndicate.
The cleaners hit the jackpot when their numbers came up on the Millionaire Maker draw on March 6.
The Euromillions lottery syndicate members – who are all staff at St Matthew’s Academy in Saltcoats, Ayrshire – have all bagged £55,555.55 each.
Among the winners were Claire Roberts and her mum Margaret, 55.
They revealed that the group had been playing the same numbers every week – but mixed things up by buying their tickets from a different shop each time.
The Euromillions Lottery Syndicate leader Claire, 31, explained: “The girls in the syndicate are from all walks of life and ages range from 24 to 63, so this money really will help us all in different ways.
“On that particular Friday, my mum went to the News Stand on Dockhead Street to put on the lines.
“She checked the results online the next day but she didn’t look at the Millionaire Maker code. It wasn’t until the Monday that she realised we had won.
“We took turns to call all the other girls and let them know because we were arguing over who should get to share the news – fair is fair.
She continued: “The timing could not be better. I’ve just booked for myself, mum and my daughter to go on an all-inclusive holiday to Spain.
“I can now pay that all off without worrying and look forward to a fantastic summer.”
All players of the UK version of EuroMillions are automatically entered into the Millionaire Maker draw, which guarantees one ticket will win £1 million .
